The Company
Gurú de Viaje is a Mexican startup that specializes in finding and sharing the best flight deals available in the market. The company’s mission is to help people travel the world affordably by sharing cheap flights and offering curated travel tours.
The Need
The primary goal was to improve the website’s visual appeal and usability in order to increase user retention and repeat visits. Key information—such as destination, price, and travel requirements—needed to be easier to find. At the same time, the site had several usability issues that were impacting the overall user experience and conversion rates.
The typical user is someone looking to travel on a budget. They are searching for a low-cost flight but are often flexible with dates and destinations.
The Challenge
The existing website had been designed with marketing and engineering needs in mind, so while it functioned technically, it lacked many essential user experience components. The challenge was to redesign the site to meet evolving business goals—even if it meant balancing UX principles with certain business or technical constraints.

Additional Collaborations
In addition to working on the website redesign, I also contributed to the mobile app design. The goal of the app was to highlight top travel deals and provide users with a login system and profile section. Booking and purchasing flights were considered out of scope for the mobile version at this stage
